This past Sunday marked the Autumn Equinox. Autumn reminds us everything really is temporary. As life ebbs and flows from peaceful to challenging and back again, nature shows us the power of balance.

Autumn, the season that teaches us change can be beautiful. ~Heather Stillufsen

The fall equinox marks a time of balance and change, as nature transforms itself preparing for colder days ahead. Allowing ourselves to follow the rhythm of nature, flowing with change so we may find the peace within ourselves.

Day and night are equal in length, which can be a metaphor for our lives and our spiritual journeys. This is a time to reflect on our year to date and any milestones or setbacks along the way. It can also be a time to consider letting go of what no longer serves us.

Embracing the season of change brings us wisdom and insight so we can move forward.

Reflect

  • Am I holding on to people, places or beliefs that no longer serve me?
  • Am I prioritizing myself and what I need?
  • Am I honoring my intentions for this year?
  • Do I need to shift my focus and priorities for the rest of the year?
  • Is what I'm doing bringing me the reality I desire?

Release

As you release what’s holding you back, it may be time to consider a new direction. Whether it’s a job, a relationship or a lifestyle. This is the perfect time to rediscover your inner voice and reconnect with your needs and desires.

  • Journaling
  • Meditation
  • Letting Go Ceremony

Embrace New beginnings

The fall equinox is the beginning of the astrological new year. This energy encourages us to take risks, assert our will, and embark on new journeys.

Gratitude

Gratitude for the small things and the big things always makes life richer.

  • List five things every day you’re grateful for.
  • Start a gratitude journal.
  • Make a gratitude vision board.

Connect with Nature

As the temperatures cool down, make time to connect with the sights, sounds and smells of nature. Drinking in the colors, breathing in the fresh air and taking your time.

  • Take a solo hike or meet up with friends to hike.
  • Enjoy your morning coffee outside.
  • Clear out your garden, maybe even planting spring bulbs.
  • Outdoor yoga or meditation practice.
  • Gather leaves, pinecones, branches or anything interesting to bring inside to make a fall arrangement.

Allow yourself to follow the rhythm of nature, flowing with change and finding peace within yourself.
