Breakfast Apple Crumble

Guests love our Breakfast Apple Crumble served at Sunday Brunch. You can add chopped nuts, raisins or cranberries for a different twist. It's best served warm. Perfect with a side of yogurt.

Ingredients
  • 4 extra large gala apples
  • 2 T. whole wheat flour
  • 2 T each of cinnamon and nutmeg
  • splash of lemon juice
  • 1 c. oats
  • 1/3 c. brown sugar
  • 1/4 c. whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 c. Oats
  • 1/4 c. (1/2 stick) butter, softened
  • pinch of salt
Prepare
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Peel apples and cut into thin slices.
  3. Spread apples evenly in a 9 x 13 baking dish. Add flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and lemon juice and stir until evenly coated.
  4. In a bowl, combine oats, brown sugar, flour, and oats. Cut in butter and add salt until the mixture is crumbly.
  5. Evenly cover the apples with the oat mixture.
  6. Bake for 20 minutes or until top is nicely browned and apples are tender. Enjoy!
