Guests love our Breakfast Apple Crumble served at Sunday Brunch. You can add chopped nuts, raisins or cranberries for a different twist. It's best served warm. Perfect with a side of yogurt.
Ingredients
- 4 extra large gala apples
- 2 T. whole wheat flour
- 2 T each of cinnamon and nutmeg
- splash of lemon juice
- 1 c. oats
- 1/3 c. brown sugar
- 1/4 c. whole wheat flour
- 1/4 c. Oats
- 1/4 c. (1/2 stick) butter, softened
- pinch of salt
Prepare
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Peel apples and cut into thin slices.
- Spread apples evenly in a 9 x 13 baking dish. Add flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and lemon juice and stir until evenly coated.
- In a bowl, combine oats, brown sugar, flour, and oats. Cut in butter and add salt until the mixture is crumbly.
- Evenly cover the apples with the oat mixture.
- Bake for 20 minutes or until top is nicely browned and apples are tender. Enjoy!
