Self Care

Sometimes we think of self care as nothing more than a relaxing hot bath with candles, maybe a glass of wine, and definitely a good book. That's a great place to start. Taking time for yourself on a weekly basis (or more!) is a great way to incorporate self love into your life.

These easy DIY essential oil recipes are a great addition to your self care routine and they also make great homemade gifts for your girlfriends.

Some of our retreats offer DIY Aromatherapy Workshops. Find out more here.

Use premium essential oils (Aura Cacia is a good brand and available at local stores including Sprouts and Whole Foods). You'll also need a 4 oz spray bottle and distilled water.

Emotional Healing

  • 20 drops orange
  • 10 drops bergamot
  • 10 drops pine needle or rosemary

Calming & Relaxing

  • 24 drops lavender
  • 24 drops sage
  • 12 drops geranium

Mental Clarity

Energizing

  • 10 drops eucalyptus
  • 10 drops peppermint
  • 14 drops lemon

Add water to fill spray bottle.

Use the essential oil blends to make the following. You can find more recipes here.

Bath Salts

1 cup coarse sea salt
½ cup epsom salts
3 tbsp baking soda
10-15 drops essential oil blend of your choice

In a large bowl, mix together salts and baking soda. Add in essential oil and combine. Store in a tightly sealed container to keep out moisture.

Coconut Oil Sugar Scrub

½ cup coconut oil, melted but not hot
1 ½ cups sugar
10-20 drops of essential oil blend of your choice

Mix coconut oil and sugar until desired consistency, and stir in essential oils of your choice.

Your Aromatherapy Sprays can be used in your car, office or bedroom, depending on your blend. Set the tone for your day by using first thing in the morning or prepare yourself for a relaxing evening by using before bed.
