Be Inspired

Every retreat experience is unique. I’ve had guests who retreat multiple times and they tell me they get something different out of their retreat each time. In the hustle and bustle of life we don’t spend enough time processing and appreciating our experiences before we move onto the next thing. I believe taking time to reflect on a weekend away from the distractions of daily life can lead to discoveries about ourselves and the emotions we’re feeling.

I’ve created these journal prompts as a resource for you. So you may have a deeper understanding of your retreat experience and the resulting emotions you felt.

Post Retreat

  • When did I feel most present and joyful during the retreat? What allowed that to be my experience?
  • What can I appreciate about myself and the way I showed up at the retreat?
  • How can I care for myself on a daily basis that will replenish my energy instead of deplete it?
  • How can I continue to show up for myself?
  • How can I build on what I discovered at the retreat?

If you want to continue on the journey of honoring yourself and your emotions, the following writing prompts are for you.

Personal Growth and Self-Discovery

  • What are my core values? Am I living in alignment with them?
  • What are my strengths and weaknesses?
  • What is a past experience I can forgive myself for?
  • What makes me feel powerful? How can I tap into that feeling more often?

Present-Moment Awareness and Gratitude

  • What are five things I’m grateful for?
  • What made me smile today?
  • Can I find gratitude for challenges I've faced?
  • Am I grateful for myself and the person I am? Why or why not?

Future Planning and Intentions

  • What is one thing I want to let go of from the past?
  • What are my priorities for the next few months?
  • What do I want to bring more of into my life?
  • What does my ideal future look like, and what is one small step I can take to get there?

Wherever you are on your journey of self-discovery, remember to honor the person you are today, the past you and the future you. You are doing the best you can. When you show up for yourself everyday, you discover your power.
